Camera Angles Assignment

 Camera Angles Assignment

The land before time (1988-2016)

By Producer: Don Bluth

I chose this film because of the constant use of different camera angles used throughout certain scenes to show how little foot and his friends interact with each other while going on their adventures together. Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to find the actual year all the scenes that are being used were made or to be clearer, created. As you continue you will see how Don Bluth uses different camera angles throughout this film, and how they show the main character and his friends' emotions. As the shots from the movie are from contrasting times the viewer may see that in certain clips the characters may look slightly different or that their colors have changed.

This Birds Eye view shot was taken to show the viewer how little foot, and his friends were insignificantly small, weak, and fragile compared to the extremely large and dangerous canyon they were walking through. This shot also shows the viewer how little foot and his friends look from the top view of themselves.

This ground level shot shows the viewer how large and impeccably strong the adult dinosaur is from just stomping on the ground. It also shows said viewer how the dinosaurs surrounding are slowly getting destroyed the more they stomp and tramping all over the place.

The close-up photo of little foot shows the viewer the sheer fear on his face as he is distraught. The viewer can see how weak and fragile little foot is with his emotions basically plastered across his face. Look at how weak this scared little apatosaurus (long neck) is.

This high angle shot is used to show the viewer how little foot, and his friends are completely incompetent and too small to be able to grab the fruits hanging above their heads. As one can see the amount of confusion on the small dinosaurs faces as if their thinking of ways to reach such high fruits as to please their hunger.

This extreme low angle shot shows the viewer how one of little foots friends can soar through the shy so high above the trees and everyone else. As the viewer can see this little guy is surrounded by a large blue shy and exceptionally large trees below him.

This establishing shot is used to show the viewer how large the surrounding land is compared to the tiny dinosaurs. You can clearly see that the mountains and trees are exceptionally large in contrast to little foot at his friends. The blue sky differentiates from the green grass and the brown-ish red mountains in the background causing some great contrasts for the photo.

This establishing shot shows the viewer how the creator uses multiple shades of blue to contrast the green dinosaur and how the dinosaur in the picture seems to be mesmerized by the stars starting to surround it. It also shows the viewer how this is quite different for being able to see stars personally and how it is speaking to them showing the viewer how the dinosaur is seemingly different then what other might think it will be.

This eye-level shot shows the viewer how one of the elder dinosaurs seem agitated or frustrated about something or someone. The viewer can easily recognize that this dinosaur might be older than the rest because of all the wrinkles it has from its lips to its neck. The blue color of the atmosphere surrounding it works well with the blue-ish green tones of its skin slowly making the viewer desensitized towards the confuzzlement on its face.
