Camera Angles Assignment The land before time (1988-2016) By Producer: Don Bluth          I chose this film because of the constant use of different camera angles used throughout certain scenes to show how little foot and his friends interact with each other while going on their adventures together. Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to find the actual year all the scenes that are being used were made or to be clearer, created. As you continue you will see how Don Bluth uses different camera angles throughout this film, and how they show the main character and his friends' emotions. As the shots from the movie are from contrasting times the viewer may see that in certain clips the characters may look slightly different or that their colors have changed.                       This Birds Eye view shot was taken to...

Use of Long Shots Notes

Use of long shots A long shot is a term used in filmmaking, video production, and photography, and is sometimes called a full shot or wide shot.  Typically, the entire person, object, or figure can be seen, therefore showing how it is related to the surroundings.  Establishing shots and extreme wide shots are from so far back, encompassing an entire scene, almost any variety of camera will work for those.  Extreme long shots can be taken from as much as a quarter of a mile away. It's generally used to set the scene, perhaps as an establishing shot. It will normally be the exterior, such as the outside of the building, or possibly the landscape. It can also so scenes full of action, such as war movies, science-fiction movies, and movies about natural disasters.

Different Camera Angles Create Different Emotions • Filmmakers and cinematographers are not typically who you would picture when someone mentions an artist. • However, if we look closely at the various angles or viewpoints that could be chosen for filming, a true artist knows how to evoke emotion from the viewer by choosing just the right angle. Upon choosing the perfect angle, the cinematographer must then choose whether or not to add movement and which type of framing. This permits the movie creator to add emotional hooks to the to draw in and keep the audience's attention. Eye Level • The most common, basic, and neutral camera angle is taken at eye level. Hand-held shots • Meaning the camera is literally in the cameraman's hand and therefore a little shaky. This makes the audience feel like they are included in the scene with a reality feel. Zooming action • Slow or quick zoomadds dramatic effect. In a dolly zoom, the zooming is sudden and indic something bad is about to h...
